Fall

Took a stroll, my mind all talks with these walks
Dialogues, each screeching their preach like a squawk
People moving, sun shining, wind roaring I headlessly ignore
My senses dulled, for this ceaseless babble keeps crashing like waves on the shore.

I stumbled flat down on the ground, not seeing a rock ahead
All conversation around cease to drown, gasps at the girl sprawled down on the floorbed.
A couple helped me get up, asking if I was alright
Every commotion I didn’t notice as I was feeling the sight.

The loud thump of my heart pumping revive my senses that I can hear
The dense particle swirling around my taste buds called blood, saltier than they appear
The stinging pain around the cuts pointed out that I can feel
The dark liquid oozing out from my skin extracted my memory that my body is filled.

The sun gives shine to each dust and dirt around the air and ground
The trees sway in tune with the blow of the wind, how profound
The leaves that fall give a theatrical dance in the air, my eyes transfix
The breeze caresses my skin, a whisper of kiss of bliss.

“Oh, how horrible you must feel after that fall you took!”
“No, I feel great. That was the most wonderful fall in my book!”
“Oh, but how horrible you look after the fall you took!”
I gave a joyful laugh but came out like a cackle that made them spook.

“She must have broken her head after that fall.”
“Indeed, she has. That poor old soul.”
They left, shaking their head
Feeling sad for a girl gone mad.

I heard but did not care. For in the brief while,
I heard the silent stillness amongst the noises across the mile.
I heard but why should I care. For in that brief while,
My clumsiness turned to the happiest that prolonged my smile.
